Patience is a virtue – but that doesn’t make it any easier when you’re waiting to see the benefits of a new beauty product or cream you’re using 🙂
Two products in particular seem to bring out the most impatience in people – wrinkle creams and whitening creams. Today I want to talk a bit about skin whitening and how long it can take for the effects to start showing.
There are 3 main factors that determine how long it takes. It may take several weeks or even months to fully notice the changes in your skin.
1. Your Skin Type
Your basic skin type is an important factor as this will determine the fundamental way the cream interacts with your skin. Firstly, you should be using your chosen cream twice a day, every single day (or according to the manufacturers instructions). Secondly, make sure you follow good practice for how to apply your creams. Your skin might will be either normal, sensitive or combination.
So roughly how long does it take skin whitening cream to work?:-
Normal skin will take about 4 to 8 weeks
Sensitive skin will take 2 to 3 weeks
Combination skin will take 6 to 8 weeks
2. The Whitening Ingredients
The next factor will of course be the active ingredients in the cream, and the concentration of them. There are many different skin lightening products, and each one will of course be formulated slightly to vastly differently depending on the manufacturer.
Lactic acid, retinoic acid, vitamin C, melawhite, arbutin, and kojic acid are all recognized as effective active ingredients. How much of these ingredients is actually in the cream will determine the effectiveness of the it. As a rough general guide it should have somewhere around 1 to 4 per cent concentration of the active ingredients. Read more ›
Not everyone knows this so I thought it would be good to share 🙂
This simple tip will make any creams or lotions (cheap or expensive!) much more effective.
The tip is simply to ‘exfoliate’ before you apply.
Now I know you’ve heard of that before, but I also have a secret weapon. It’s my Baiden exfoliating mitten from Skin Product Reviewer. And let me tell you, not every exfoliation mitt or sponge is the same. When you see this working, you’ll start to understand why all your moiturizing lotions and whitening products are better absorbed and will probably become even more effective than they are now.
Get one, they last ages, and I love mine 🙂
p.s. I know they are a little pricey for a mitt, but our creams and lotions are a lot more expensive. And if this makes them all work better, then that makes it a total bargain in my opinion. Give it a try, and let me know what you think of it?
Natural beauty products may be costlier than traditional products you find in a drug store, but they are worth the added expense. These more natural beauty products are kinder to your skin, safer for you to use, and safer for the environment.
More and more cosmetics are getting attention for the harmful ingredients that are contained in them. These items even include those made by top cosmetic lines, which cost a good deal more than drug store cosmetics. Some ingredients like BHA and BHT are thought to cause cancer.
BHA and BHT are found in moisturizers. Avoid this risk. Choose moisturizers and cosmetics that are made from all natural ingredients. Look out the next time you buy nail polish. If your fancy shade has dibutyl phthalate in it, put it back. This is also a carcinogen, and it is proven to be harmful to fish and wildlife.
Another item you want to avoid in your makeup is paraben. This is thought to disrupt the male reproductive system. Leave these items in the store. Start shopping for safe, all –natural beauty products.
For moisturizers, think about using items you have at home. Olive oil, while it may not be scented in a pleasing way, is a superior emollient. Be careful using it on oily skin. For blushes and powders, look for lines such as Physician’s Formula cosmetics. These items do not contain any of the harmful, cancer-causing ingredients mentioned here. Read more ›
